In the book of Jonah, God calls on one of His prophets and tells him to travel to a foreign land and preach to a foreign group of a people. A group that was actually Israel’s enemies! Jonah sent God to voicemail. We shouldn’t do the same thing.

As we celebrate a new year, many of us will make resolutions to change ourselves for the better. We may want to lose weight, exercise more, spend less time watching TV and more time studying Scripture. While we often want to change something about ourselves, God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

During this time of year people all over the world are hyper aware of Jesus’s birth. This is the moment when God became man. However, 2000 years ago when he was born, many did not know something that special was happening. Over the next few weeks we will take a look at how the different kings of that day reacted to this important occasion. Next, let us look at the king who brought Christmas, Jesus Christ.
